Dashcam footage sought after collision

Two people are in custody and witnesses are being sought by Kent Police following a collision in Chatham.

On Monday (1st April) at around 10.20pm officers from the Community Policing Team in Medway signalled for a suspicious vehicle to stop in Upper Luton Road.

The driver failed to stop and, during a short police pursuit, collided with a number of parked cars in Castle Hill before colliding with a stationary marked police car. The driver then left the vehicle and ran into a house on Shipwrights Avenue.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the area but there were no reports of any serious injuries.

Arrests

Officers entered the building and arrested a 19-year-old man from Chatham on suspicion of dangerous driving. A knife was also discovered in the car and seized by police.

A 17-year-old girl from Chatham was also arrested at the property on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs after a quantity of suspected class B drugs were found.
